Be The Difference! Part 4

by Julius King Kwedhi

"Lot lived right and was greatly troubled by the terrible way those wicked people were living. He was a good man, and day after day he suffered because of the evil things he saw and heard. So the Lord rescued him."
(2 Peter 2:7 CEV)
We are called to be the difference in this world, to be the salt and the light of the earth. But we cannot do that if our mind is set on the things of this world, to please it in its lustful pleasures and pomp. This world is evil, Church. So, let us be the difference. Be the Lot in this Sodom and Gomorrah of today. Remember Lot? That gentleman served God in his generation, although the glitter of the pleasures of this world lead him to those evil cities. Though he was short-sighted and could not see what lay beyond the green grass and streams of water that invited his proud eyes, he nevertheless remained faithful to the Lord His God. He remained the only righteous man in Sodom and Gomorrah with his family, although his wife was so caught in the lure that burned behind her and also perished with it for turning back despising the command of the angels to not turn back.

"Lot lived right and was greatly troubled by the terrible way those wicked people were living. He was a good man, and day after day he suffered because of the evil things he saw and heard. So the Lord rescued him."
(2 Peter 2:7 CEV)

Lot lived through the Pompeii, Hollywood and Vegas of his day and refused to give in. He refused to change his mindset concerning marriage and homosexuality. He refused to give up his disposition concerning modesty. He refused to surrender his way of thinking to idol worship. Lot refused to "understand" and agree with the abortionists that abortion is not a problem.

"Then he said, "Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once. Suppose ten are found there." He answered, "For the sake of ten I will not destroy it."" (Genesis 18:32 ESV)

If Lot was the only righteous man in his city, refused to give up his mind and rather chose to please God, and the Lord Jehovah later rescued him from the judgement that was coming, I also refuse to be changed by this world. I refuse to conform to the patterns of this world. I refuse to believe the lies of this world. I refuse to be deceived by the sweet talk that this world has to offer. I refuse.

If Lot could decide to be different from the culture that surrounded him and he literally persevered and pleased God, I also decide to be different from the culture of this generation. I know, and I have seen and have heard of people who tried this and that, and some, by God's grace and mercy, later realized their folly and turned back confessing "Nope, I do not want this and that anymore. I am going to change." Others, however, never changed and were destroyed. I for one refuse altogether to either try this or that. I have decided to be different from this generation and its culture.

Further Scripture Reading:

"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him."
(Romans 8:5-9 ESV)

THE LATTER GLORY & THE COMING OF THE MESSIAH NAMIBIA CONFERENCE Pt 1 ...

JESUS AND NICODEMUS

Now there was a certain man among the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler (a leader, an authority) among the Jews, Who came to Jesus at night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know and are certain that You have come from God [as] a Teacher; for no one can do these signs (these wonderworks, these miracles - and produce the proofs) that You do unless God is with him. Nicodemus said to Him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter his mother's womb again and be born? Jesus answered, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, unless a man (this includes you Flame) is born of watter and [even] the Spirit, he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God. Whatever is born of [from] the flesh is flesh [of the physical is physical]; and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not [do not be surprised, astonished] at My (Jesus) telling you, You (including you Flame) must all be born anew (from above). The wind blows (breathes) where it wills; and though you hear its sound, yet you neithe
