Be The Difference! Part 5

Julius King Kwedhi "But Daniel determined in his heart that he would not defile himself by [eating his portion of] the king’s rich  and  dainty food or by [drinking] the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might [be allowed] not to defile himself." (Daniel 1:8 AMP) Daniel, the servant of Jehovah, has taught us a valuable lesson of what it means to be the difference in the culture that surrounds us and eventually to be the difference in our generation. From his life, we learn that Daniel was a faithful steward in the house of God. Daniel was uncompromising in his faith in Jehovah, his God. He decided in his heart that he was not going to allow himself to be defiled by the pagan culture and by eating the pagan food that the king ordered for them to be fed with (Daniel 1:8). What should our response be? My response and  your response is to dare to be different from this culture and show them the reason to believe in Jesus, ju

Be The Difference! Part 4

by Julius King Kwedhi "Lot lived right and was greatly troubled by the terrible way those wicked people were living. He was a good man, and day after day he suffered because of the evil things he saw and heard. So the Lord rescued him." (2 Peter 2:7 CEV) We are called to be the difference in this world, to be the salt and the light of the earth. But we cannot do that if our mind is set on the things of this world, to please it in its lustful pleasures and pomp. This world is evil, Church. So, let us be the difference. Be the Lot in this Sodom and Gomorrah of today. Remember Lot? That gentleman served God in his generation, although the glitter of the pleasures of this world lead him to those evil cities. Though he was short-sighted and could not see what lay beyond the green grass and streams of water that invited his proud eyes, he nevertheless remained faithful to the Lord His God. He remained the only righteous man in Sodom and Gomorrah with his family, although hi

by King Julius Kwedhi "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."  (Romans 12:2 ESV) This is the difference, Church, between the world and us - our  mindset . The way our minds are framed. Totally different from that of the world. And many things they will try to employ so as to change it but they are all in vain for ours is a mind of Christ, a mind that cannot be changed by stones thrown at us or by a firing letter from work for reason of who we are and what we believe. Make no mistake to take this lightly. Just as we are on the mission to win souls to Christ, so is Satan and all his children are on a mission to evangelize us and turn us back into destruction. And guess where the battle is? You are right, the battle is in our minds. It is in your mind and it is also in my mind. Listen to the apostle Paul: "Do not be conformed t

by King Julius Kwedhi "You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers." 1 Thessalonians 2:10 ESV We have often heard it said "You can take the boy out of the village, but it will surely prove hard to take the village out of him." But this sounds different to how you usually hear it, isn't it? You are used to hearing it thus "You can take the boy out of the village but you cannot take the village out of him." But the second part of this popular quote is not true because you can take the village out of the boy. But if the boy is making this as his bold declaration that you cannot take the village out of him, then know that you won't. But the mistake we make is this, we limit this principle to the village boy or jungle man scenario only. How about if we apply this same principle to the Church? How about if we, as the Church, make this our bold and confident declaration: "You c

by King Julius Kwedhi "Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:" (Philippians 2:5 ASV) Weymouth renders this verse thus:  " Let the same disposition be in you which was in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 2:5 WNT). By disposition, he is talking about a mindset, a worldview, a tendency to do something; temper or natural constitution of the mind; an inclination of the mind, a propensity, the way your mind is framed, disposed and arranged. A mindset. He says, the way your mind should work is exactly as that of Christ Jesus. And no one should be able to change that. If you remember Christ so well you will not be quick to forget that He was challenged many times to change the way He thought. He was beaten for it. He was rejected for it. They spat on Him and wanted to stone Him all because of the way His mind was set. His thoughts were not conformed to the expectations of his contemporaries who claimed to worship God but couldn't see that God was ri
