THAT’S MY KING - S.M. LOCKRIDGE

THAT’S MY KING by S.M. LOCKRIDGE The Bible says: My King is the King of the Jews, He is the King of the Israel, He is the King of Righteousness, He is the King of the ages, He is the King of Heaven, He is the King of Glory, He is the King of Kings, and He is the Lord of lords. That’s my King! I wonder, do you know Him? My King is a Sovereign King No means of measure can define His limitless Love He’s enduringly strong, He’s entirely sincere, He’s eternally steadfast, He’s immortally graceful. He’s imperially powerful, He’s impartially merciful, Do you know Him? He’s the greatest Phenomenon that has crossed the horizon of this world. He’s God’s Son. He’s a sinner’s Saviour. He’s the centerpiece of civilization. He’s unparalleled He’s unprecedented He’s the loftiest idea in literature He’s the Highest Personality in philosophy He’s the fundamental doctrine of true theology He’s the only one qualified to be an

We Have Hope

by King Julius Kwedhi What is not easy is not “living a Christian life,” it is rather “not living a Christian life.” Because, for us, the Christians, we have hope and a Helper always by our side. But for the unbelievers, the sinners, they don't have hope at all. They have a deceiver who calls himself their helper. They hold on to anything and everything that looks like, feels like, smells like and glitters like hope, only to realize that they have been holding on to the wind. We, however, have Hope. The true Hope. A tangible Hope. A persisting Hope. A hope that “maketh not ashamed” (Romans 5:5), and is established by love. Ours is the Hope of glory. Or you may say “a glorious hope” (Col. 1:27). We have Hope. Further Scripture Reading: Romans 5:5 ESV   and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.   Colossians 1:27 ESV   To them God chose to make known how great a

There Is None Besides Jehovah

by King Julius Kwedhi In the entire universe and everything that is, there is no other God beside Jehovah. No God but Him alone. He is the only One Who is God. Do you understand that GREAT TRUTH? The songwriter writes: I search, search, search Here and there I walk, walk, walk Here and there I turned around Here and there There is no one, there is no one like Him 1 There is no one like Jesus! He is the only One. And the preacher describes Him thus: My King is a Sovereign King No means of measure can define His limitless Love He’s enduringly strong, He’s entirely sincere, He’s eternally steadfast, He’s immortally graceful. He’s imperially powerful, He’s impartially merciful, Do you know Him? He’s the greatest Phenomenon that has crossed the horizon of this world. He’s God’s Son. He’s a sinner’s Saviour. He’s the centrepiece of civilization. He’s unparalleled He’s unprecedented He’s the loftiest idea in literature H

12 Ways to Love Your Wayward Child

by Abraham Piper My son Abraham, who speaks from the wisdom of experience and Scripture, has written the article that follows. I read it with tears and laughter. It is so compelling that I asked him immediately if I could share it with the church and the wider Christian community. There is no greater joy than to see your children walking in the truth—and expressing it so well. The rest is Abraham's untouched. - John Piper  Many parents are brokenhearted and completely baffled by their unbelieving son or daughter. They have no clue why the child they raised well is making such awful, destructive decisions. I've never been one of these parents, but I have been one of these sons. Reflecting back on that experience, I offer these suggestions to help you reach out to your wayward child. 1. Point them to Christ. Your rebellious child's real problem is not drugs or sex or cigarettes or pornography or laziness or crime or cussing or slovenliness or homos

The Garden And The Wilderness

The Garden And The Wilderness by King Julius M. Kwedhi Through Adam’s disobedience we were moved from the garden to the wilderness. But through Christ’s obedience we are now moved from the wilderness back into the garden. The first temptation took place in the garden (Genesis 3), while the second temptation took place in the wilderness (Matthew 4; Luke 4). The garden is the place of coolness, peace, perfection (completeness), beauty, restoration, satisfaction and joy, among the list of many such. The wilderness is the complete opposite: the place of heat, imperfection, wretchedness, brokenness, thirst, hunger, dryness, ugliness and many such as these. Jesus came to call us into the garden; into His presence that we may walk with Him again in the cool of the day. Surely, that is where the Children of God belong. And that is where their hearts long to be always. In His presence, in the Garden of His perfect beauty.

The Names of God

by Max Lucado In the three years as I came to know my wife, Denalyn, our relationship evolved. And with each change came a new name. She went from acquaintance to friend to eye-popping beauty to date to fiancĂ©e and wife. Now she is confidante, mother of my children, life-long partner. The more I know her the more names I give her. And the more God’s people came to know him, the more names they gave him. Elohim, strong one or creator. Jehovah-raah, a caring shepherd. Jehovah-jireh, the Lord who provides. These are just a few of the names of God which describe his character. Study them, for in a given day, you may need each one of them. God, the shepherd who leads, the Lord who provides, the voice who brings peace in the storm, the physician who heals the sick, the banner that guides. And most of all… He Is!
