Know Him And Listen For His Voice Part 1

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shall be no priest to me: Seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children."
(Hosea 4:6)

 

In the above verse, this is what the Lord is saying to Hosea concerning the state of His people; they are destroyed! Why? They lack knowledge. Why? Because they rejected knowledge. How? By not abiding in the word of God, spoken to them in the past, and by not keeping in remembrance the things they were taught. They did not listen to God, as He spoke through his prophet in their time, by not paying attention and listening for His voice. The truth is that false teachers and false prophets will always be among us for as long as the devil looms free. There is nothing we can do about it. The devil, the father of all lies and all deceit, is a deceiver of man. What God requires from you and me is to listen for His voice.

 

 The Lord Jesus said:

"And other sheep I have which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and they shall become one flock, one shepherd. (John 10:16)

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow Me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand. My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father`s hand." (John 10 verse 27-29)
 

"For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect." (Mathew 24:24)

For a child of God to listen and to hear for His voice, this is grace. His Word is our faith. Our confidence. I especially like it when the Lord says they (the false prophets and false Christs) will "perform signs and wonders... to lead astray, if possible, even the elect." But, Praise the Lord Jesus in whom we live and have our being, this is not possible. How so? Why won't they succeed in leading astray the elect of Christ? John 10 vs. 27 has the answer:

 

            "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow Me."

 

Their reason is to lead astray. They camouflage. Why do they camouflage? Do not be deceived, if they are after Christians, they will speak a Christian language - and they really act Christian. We should all know by now that acting like a Christian and speaking like one does not make you one, right? They have adopted new ways of doing evil. Same evil but different packaging. That's why apostle Paul says to "Fly from every thing evil" (1Thess. 5:22 Murdock). They won't stand in front of you and say "devil you are my father." Hello! You only ensnare a bird by means of what it eats, don't you?

 

The writer would like to remind the reader here, for conscience' sake, that we war not after the flesh, for our weapons are not carnal. Our battle is not against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities and all powers of darkness. (Eph. 6:12)

 

"Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life." (Proverbs 4:13)

This is the Word of God by which He gave life to us, just as Apostle James confirms when he wrote, “He chose to give us birth through the Word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of all He creatures.”(James 1:18; John 1:12)
