Restoring [The] Pulpit

"18 Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the LORD descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, and the whole mountain trembled violently. 19 As the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and the voice of God answered him."
(Exodus 19:18-19)

WHY THE GODHEAD CHOOSES TO REVEAL HIMSELF TO MANKIND

THE FOURTH REASON for which JEHOVAH THE GODHEAD HIMSELF may choose to visit the church in PERSON, is as a matter of fact related to the third reason. Many times the devil exploits confusion as his tool of throwing the otherwise well-meaning people of GOD into an otherwise totally unnecessary tempest. However, owing to the fact that GOD's word of the truth is the established sanitizer of HIS people's lives, the enemy often attempts to infiltrate that line of truth with a shrewd counterfeit. This situation is not very far from what the presentday church of Christ is currently undergoing.

With false prophets and false apostles plus false evangelists, criss-crossing the width and breath of the Altar for money, there couldn't have been a better place at which to underscore the deadly consequences of counterfeit than in the house today. The enemy has ensured that he infiltrates the word of the truth with a very closely related message that resembles the truth, and yet is actually totally false. That having been the case in Israel, and now the church, the GODHEAD often decides that enough is enough and intervenes in order to establish HIS impeccable LINE OF TRUTH. In so doing, the GODHEAD often visits in order to clearly distinguish between the authentic and counterfeit Messenger and Message.

“Baal, answer us!” they shouted. But there was no response; no one answered. And they danced around the altar they had made. 27 At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.” 28 So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed. 29 Midday passed, and they continued their frantic prophesying until the time for the evening sacrifice. But there was no response, no one answered, no one paid attention. 30 Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come here to me.” They came to him, and he repaired the altar of the Lord, which had been torn down. 31 Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes descended from Jacob, to whom the word of the LORD had come, saying, “Your name shall be Israel.” 32 With the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord, and he dug a trench around it large enough to hold two seahs of seed. 33 He arranged the wood, cut the bull into pieces and laid it on the wood. Then he said to them, “Fill four large jars with water and pour it on the offering and on the wood.” 34 “Do it again,” he said, and they did it again. “Do it a third time,” he ordered, and they did it the third time. 35 The water ran down around the altar and even filled the trench. 36 At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. 37 Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.” 38 Then the fire of the LORD fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench. 39 When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The Lord—he is God! The Lord—he is God!” 40 Then Elijah commanded them, “Seize the prophets of Baal. Don’t let anyone get away!” They seized them, and Elijah had them brought down to the Kishon Valley and slaughtered there (1 Kings 18:20-40).

Because the church has for sometime now disgracefully reproached herself with the message and messengers of prosperity, the GODHEAD must have now found it right to visit her HIMSELF, and bring to a stop this noise that has for a long time masqueraded as the gospel in the church. It is indeed seriously deplorable that from one corner of the earth to the other, the church appears to have settled to one common hymn whose song champions how one can quickly prosper and live better on this earth.

For a heavenly church that is well aware of the inexchangable treasures of eternity, to settle for a cheap gospel of prosperity amounts to a deep betrayal of the core of the cause of Jesus on the Cross. And yet it is abundantly clear to any average thinking citizenry of the church that this earth for whose dwelling they so clamour will soon [be] passing away!

The GODHEAD hence indeed had to come down HIMSELF and bring this absurdity to a stop by re-establishing the true message of the Cross and the BLOOD back to the church.
