God Wants you, Not What You Have!

God wants you, not what you have. You have, literally speaking, nothing to give Him. He has got everything to give you. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

But we try to put on make-up for God, thinking we can offer Him our beauty, in order for Him to accept us in the beloved. Or we try to work out for Him, so we can build strong muscles, thinking God is looking for men with strong muscles to join His army.

God has never asked for strong men. He strengthens those He calls. He never asked for beauty pageants. He beautifies those He calls. He doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

Simply put, we have nothing to offer God that will cause Him to make us right with Himself. Many people try the charity way, to match up with or beat Mother Theresa’s record, thinking that humanitarian work will win God’s favour. But He never asked us to be champions of humanitarian work in order for us to be made right with Him.

On the contrary, while these acts are good and acceptable in His sight, and are beneficial to men, they surely do not gain His saving grace. He simply asked us to believe on the name of His dear Son, Jesus Christ. “…that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” It is this faithful trust in Jesus that leads us to justification. “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”(Romans 5:1)

That is all He requires of us. To have faith in His beloved Son Jesus Christ. God wants you, not what you have. Stop trying to perform in order to gain His approval. Those things, in the Christian, are a result of His salvation. When you are saved, then you are now asked to do the good and loving works of faith. No Christian is exempted from that. And that calls you to seek to know, in the Scriptures, what it is that you are required to do and to whom you should do it.

The Weapon Of Prayer Ephesians 6:12 -  'For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.'   It's time to pray saints of God. When people harm you, or misuse you. When they slander your name, lie on you, or disregard your very own desire to do the right thing. When you have changed, yet they will not let you live down your past, or when you stand for the truth and yet they tear you down, it's time to pray! But this sounds different to how you usually hear it, isn't it? You are used to hearing it thus "You can take the boy out of the village but you cannot take the village out of him." But the second part of this popular quote is not true because you can take the village out of the boy. But if the boy is making this as his bold declaration that you cannot take the village out of him, then know that you won't. But the mistake we make is this, we limit this principle to the village boy or jungle man scenario only. How about if we apply this same principle to the Church?
