5 “But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ 6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. (John 16:5-11 NKJV)

The Ministry of the Holy Spirit is so holy and so grandeur that it also comes with an emergency. He has come, not to play with the hearts of man, but to point all to Christ Jesus and to the Father. Jesus hereby tells us, in detail, what the Ministry of the Holy Spirit entails as He was sent forth to the earth to do a quick work for the Kingdom of God.

He will convict the world to be in sin. And this state of sinfulness is nothing but the result of their unbelief in Christ Jesus, the only name given unto men by which we can be saved. So, the world is therefore found to be gravely in sin because simply they do not believe in Christ Jesus.

He will manifest the Work of Christ on the Cross as the only true righteousness. He will convince the world that "Hey! this is true righteousness right here. There is no other." This is the acceptable sacrifice, Christ Jesus. This is what is pleasing to God the Father - the Works of Jesus Christ. Nothing compares. Nothing matches this what He has done. And this is the only way you can get closer to God and enjoy fellowship with Him, through the righteousness of His Son, Jesus Christ.

He will show and convict this world to be already under God's judgement because the prince of this world, Satan, the spirit who is at work in the sons and daughters of disobedience has already been judged and His end known. So the Holy Spirit will show that this world is already, as well, under God's condemnation. And it is busy spiralling down the road of hell if they don't repent from their sins and turn to Jesus Who is true righteousness.

So He will convince and convict the world that they are sinners (filthy), they are not righteous (unacceptable to God; are not upright in heart and in right standing with God) and that they all fall under His judgement (are doomed unless they repent).

This the Ministry of the Holy. But that is not the whole. He has come to set the records straight and to remove the confusion that camouflages under the false image of "I am a good person".
